[...] 1. I dusted off my sewing machine about a week ago. I was trying to find a nice sewing machine cover for it on etsy with no luck. I guess people who have sewing machines generally know how to sew their cover, so etsians figure no one will buy one. I was excited to see that Craft Zine has linked to a sewing machine cover tutorial by Not Nigella. [...]

Love this! My machine is filled with dust too. I’m going to use your tutorial and whip this up after my son goes to bed! One question- did you glue on the trim or add it when you were topstitching? Rad choice of fabrics!
Thanks!

Thanks for all the feedback and kind words!
Becks - To attach the trim I used a very open zigzag stitch, I used the same yarn last week so I’d already tested it out then, there’s a clearer picture of my test strip and the stitches I tried out about half way down this post
Hope that helped!

I keep my sewing machine in the dining room, since I lack a crafty space of my own, and I really would like to cover it up when it’s not in use. Thanks for the tutorial! It made perfect sense, and I can’t wait to try it.

I just found you from Sew Mama Sew! I am going to make this later today. I need a pretty cover for my sewing machine, and I need something quick, easy, and fun to get away from garment sewing. I will show you it when I am done : )
Now I am going to enjoy the rest of your blog : )
